Freefly Astro Max (NDAA/Blue) is a compact industrial drone platform designed for flexibility, efficiency, and reliability across a wide range of commercial and industrial applications. Built on more than a decade of Freefly’s experience developing aircraft for professional cinema and high-end productions, Astro Max is engineered to carry valuable payloads in demanding environments while keeping pilot workflows simple and efficient.

Built on the success of the Alta family of aircraft, Astro Max incorporates technologies including Auterion Skynode and Freefly’s high-energy-density smart batteries. Its open interface specifications provide a flexible platform for integrating a variety of payloads and new technologies.

Designed for professional and industrial applications, Astro Max emphasizes expandability and customization to support a wide range of mission requirements while delivering the reliable performance expected from Freefly aircraft. Designed and assembled in the USA, with special hardware and software making it both NDAA compliant and DIU Blue approved, Astro Max reflects Freefly’s commitment to developing reliable, professional-grade aircraft for commercial and industrial applications.

Pilot Pro Controller

The Freefly Pilot Pro Controller is included with Astro Max and provides an intuitive, pilot-focused control experience designed for professional operations. Featuring an IP43-rated design, the controller is equipped with a long-range Doodle Labs 2.4 GHz radio with NDAA compliance and DIU Blue designation, as well as conveniently placed controls for flight operation, camera functions, and other essential features. Customizable buttons allow operators to tailor controls to their preferred workflow. The integrated fold-out 8-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab Active5 provides an HD live view and essential flight information, giving pilots a clear view of their mission.

High-Efficiency Propellers

The Freefly Astro Max is equipped with high-efficiency folding propellers designed to maximize flight performance and efficiency. The 22-inch propellers feature a lightweight carbon fiber reinforced nylon construction and are optimized for use with the Astro Max propulsion system. Their efficient design helps provide extended flight times while maintaining the stability and reliability needed for professional operations
